Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Collaborative Practice?
A collaborative practice is a unique concept in wellness care. Our counselors work together to help individuals, couples, and families. The collaborative model provides access to counselors with unique specialties and perspectives so each family member can find the best fit. And because you can schedule appointments simultaneously, it streamlines the time and communication necessary to help you achieve your wellness goals.
How do I schedule an appointment?
The Well House offers quick and convenient online scheduling. We understand that it can be difficult to wait for a call back, so now you can research counselors and schedule an appointment when it is convenient for you. Simply select your counselor, appointment type and time. We will automatically send intake forms to you and will be in touch to confirm your appointment.
Do you take insurance?
The Well House is a self-pay practice. As an out-of-network provider, the Well House does not directly bill or accept insurance for treatment. As a self-pay client, you will enjoy greater privacy and control in our work together. However, we have found that many insurance companies will cover our services as an out-of-network provider. If you have a PPO, we can provide a “super bill” that you could submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. A super bill is a detailed record of payment with special codes for what kind of service was provided along with our license numbers. We recommend calling your insurance to find out what reimbursement will look like for an out-of-network provider.
What can I expect during my first appointment?
After scheduling your first appointment, you will receive two emails. One email will confirm your appointment and the second will contain a link to the client portal where you will create an account and complete intake paperwork. No need to print and bring anything in to the office. Your information will be stored securely online. Doing this prior to your first appointment will free up more time to discuss your concerns and goals.
When you arrive to the building, you may wait in the waiting room until your counselor comes to greet you. During the first session, your counselor will briefly review the intake forms and collect payment for the session. After this you and your counselor will begin to get to know each other. She will gather more information about your background, and you will have the opportunity to discuss the current issue(s) or challenge(s) you are facing, and learn more about the counseling process going forward. Feel free to share whatever flows and is on your mind! The relationship is the most important factor in counseling, and all you need to do is show up and share openly.
Counseling sessions typically last for 50 minutes and will be scheduled according to your needs and counselor’s availability.
